About
Gabriel’s story
“Something is wrong with Gabe’s heart, he’s in the helicopter, they’re transporting him now!”
At five days old my youngest grandson Gabriel was airlifted from St. Anthony’s Hospital here in Crown Point to Christ Advocate Hospital in Illinois. Thankfully his pediatrician didn’t disregard the “slight murmur” she heard during his 5 day checkup. She had his parents take him for an echocardiogram immediately. She saved his life.
Gabriel is now a beautiful one year old diagnosed with Severe Aortic Stenosis. He has had two balloon procedures and an open heart surgery. Unfortunately there will be many more hospital visits and procedures in his future. I have decided to launch a once-a-year benefit for my grandson’s lifetime of heart health needs.
